Increase in the base rate of minimum and guaranteed salaries and compensations for loss of earnings as a consequence of work injuries or occupational diseases

With effect as of 1 January 2020, the base rate of the minimum salary for a 40-hour work week increased from CZK 79.80 per hour to CZK 87.30 per hour, or from CZK 13,350 per month to CZK 14,600 per month. This resulted in an increase in the lowest guaranteed salary for individual work groups, now ranging between CZK 87.30 per hour and CZK 174.60 per hour, or between CZK 14,600 per month to CZK 29,200 per month.

There is also an increase in the compensation for the loss of earnings following a work injury or an occupational disease, as well as for the survivors of deceased employees. As of 1 January 2020, the average earnings from which the compensations are calculated increased. The average earnings (not the compensation itself) now grows by 5.2%, with CZK 151 added additionally. The indexation applies to employees and/or survivors who had become entitled to the compensation before 31 December 2019.
